Dr. Lisa Giarrusso is affectionately known as a Triple Jumbo, a three-time graduate of Tufts University. She received her Bachelor of Science from Jackson College of Tufts in Medford.

She then moved to the Boston Campus and completed her Doctorate of Dental Medicine and finished her Certificate in Orthodontics two years later. She joined the orthodontic faculty after graduation and has always remained affiliated with Tufts.

Dr. Lisa Giarrusso taught from 1992-2008 as an assistant clinical professor of orthodontics. She achieved board-certification when she became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 1999. She has extensive experience treating both children and adults, as well as treating numerous patients who require orthognathic surgery in combination with their orthodontics.

Worcester Braces

Worcester braces are an excellent choice for correcting complex tooth issues. Because they can sometimes work faster at aligning teeth and closing gaps than other treatments might, overall treatment time may be slightly reduced. Braces don’t need some of the more complex technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can. This means Worcester braces are a cost-effective orthodontic option.

Traditional braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. They’re made out of metal or ceramic brackets that are attached to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics. These brackets, wires, and bands work together to apply the gentle pressure that will gradually move the teeth into the positions we want them to be in as long as you have regular adjustments at our Worcester office.

Worcester Invisalign

Invisalign is incredibly popular with both patients and orthodontists and is the top alternative to traditional braces in Worcester. Instead of brackets and bands, the Worcester Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth.

Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and customized to fit snugly over your teeth. To keep your teeth moving in the direction you want them to, you’ll need to switch your invisible trays out for the next one in the series every 1-2 weeks. The Invisalign system can only work if the recommended guidelines are followed exactly! Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment. If patients neglect to wear the aligners as directed by our doctors, it can impede the results and also add time to the orthodontic process.

Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some complex cases, Invisalign may not be a good option. An initial consultation with us in our Worcester office will allow us to determine your eligibility for Invisalign.
